Here in Long Island Merlot, we want to promote the Merlot wines of Long Island as well as the island itself. For sure, our wines are going to be a part of your Long Island venture. But we also encourage you to explore the beauty of New York’s largest island.
Long Island, also known as Paumanok among the Native Americans, is located in the state of New York in the Eastern Coast of the United States of America. It is the longest island in North America. It is where you can see some of the fanciest neighborhoods in the country and the busiest airports and harbors. Obviously, so many things are going on but what can visitors do when they are on Long Island? The answer is: A lot! Long Island has fantastic beaches, historic sites, art museums, beautiful gardens, amazing nature and wildlife areas, scenic lighthouses, and other points of interest and landmarks. So, if you are planning a trip to this lovely place, here are two of the places and activities that you should not miss.
First on our list is the Lavender by the Bay. This is such a unique sight and very much picture-worthy. Get your cameras on ready and strike your favorite pose and you will surely get that perfect shot! Share it on social media and let your friends know that you’ve been to Lavender by the Bay. You can also buy lavender stuff around the area which you can use at home, in your car, or in your office.
Next is Cooper’s Beach. Prepare your swimsuits and sunscreen. Bask in the sun and let your feet relax in its fine white sand. Swim in its cool waters, have a picnic by the beach or go surfing for an exciting afternoon escapade.
See you in Long Island!
